The roads in our village are currently in a poor condition, primarily due to the widespread issue of potholes and worn surfaces with poor utility repairs. We outline the current condition of the roads, the implications for the community, and my commitment to initiating and overseeing their repair.

The roads in our village suffer from extensive wear and tear, which have developed over time due to weathering, inadequate maintenance, and heavy vehicular traffic. These defects vary in size and depth, posing hazards to both pedestrians and drivers. They contribute to increased vehicle wear and tear, and impede smooth transportation within the village.

The poor condition of our roads impacts several aspects of community life:

Safety Concerns: Potholes increase the risk of accidents, especially during inclement weather or at night particularly for motor and pedal cyclists.

Accessibility Issues: Elderly residents and those with mobility challenges find it difficult to navigate these uneven surfaces.

Commitment to Road Improvement

Recognising the need for action, I am committed to securing repair and maintenance for our village roads, and a proper, long term maintenance plan.

Public Awareness: Keeping residents informed about repair timelines, traffic diversions, and safety precautions during construction.

Feedback Mechanism: Establishing channels for residents to report road issues promptly and ensuring responsive action via
